As Christians we take our example from Jesus. He had a remarkable prayer life, often taking time to speak with his Father in heaven in prayer. From the earliest days of the church, Christians have committed themselves to praying for the needs of the world.
The acronym ACTS explains the different ways in which we can pray:
Adoration – thanking God for who he is or being still in his presence
Confession – saying sorry for thoughts, words and deeds that do not honour God
Thanksgiving – thanking God for all his good gifts in our lives
Supplication – praying for the needs of the world, including our own
Here are some opportunities to pray with others:
Sunday Services, Lifegroups, Bible Book Clubs, our monthly prayer gathering, special seasons such as “Thy Kingdom Come” Prayer Week leading up to Pentecost Sunday.
